FLO organised its 39th Annual Session on March 30 & 31, 2022 FICCI, New Delhi. The theme of the session was “Women’s Participation in India’s Growth Trajectory”, which was also the focus area of National President, Jayanti Dalmia.
On March 30th, 2023, a session was organised a session on “The Need to Foster an Inclusive Startup Ecosystem”. The Speaker for this session was Dr. Chintan Vaishnav, Chairperson of Startup20 India, and the Mission Director for Atal Innovation Mission (AIM).
Dr. Chintan Vaishnav stated that as the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem, India is well-positioned to lead the charge in supporting innovative startups, particularly in the sectors of global importance. The Startup20 Engagement Group will work to further support Women startups in the country and the group.
Past President, FLO and Chairperson of the Startup 20 Inclusion Task Force announced that FLO along with Startup20X India is doing a survey to understand the issues and barriers to entrepreneurship so that the member countries provide equal opportunities to all sections of society to realise their full potential.
FLO Presented the Awards for Excellence in Inclusivity Awards on March 31, 2023, in the presence of the Mr Anurag Sharma, Member of the Lok Sabha; Mr Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman Hero Enterprise; Mr Subhrakant Panda, President FICCI and Mr Shailesh Pathak, Secretary General FICCI. The dignitaries addressed the session and shared their thoughts on women empowerment.
FLO Awards for Excellence in Inclusivity was instituted to celebrate and recognise the champions, the committed leaders, advocates, creators, and exemplars, who have demonstrated different styles of addressing inclusion toward lasting change.
Commemorating the occasion, FLO Gender Parity Index 2.0 was released along with the FLO Annual Report 2022-23. FLO developed the first Gender Parity Index (GPI) for the Indian formal sector in 2016, which was published and disseminated in 2017. The GPI Index 2.0 has revised and upgraded the first Index. It has analyses, and ascertained causes and consequences between two points and has developed key recommendations and milestones.
A coffee table book titled “Women Investing and Building India”, enumerating the stories of on 75 women investors in India was also released.
The Chairpersons of FLO & YFLO Chapters across India were felicitated for their outstanding work during the year 2022-23, with the Chapter Appreciation Awards. Members who have effectively contributed towards various national initiatives and projects, undertaken under the FLO umbrella, were also recognised for their contribution.
Jayanti Dalmia, President FLO shared the major milestones achieved during her term with a FLO film, Year in Review. Over the two days, the Chapters presented reports on their activities and initiatives taken up during their term as the Chairpersons. The National Initiatives Heads also presented comprehensive report for the year.
In the ceremonial Change of Guard, the new leadership team for the year 2023-24 was officially announced. Ms Sudha Shivkumar took up the mantle as the 40th National President of FICCI Ladies Organization.
