Ficci ladies Organisation Kolkata was extremely happy and proud to host a panel of Three Women Achievers for the programme “30 Women in Power: Their Voices, Their Stories” edited by Ms. Naina Lal Kidwai on Saturday 10th October 2015 at Taj Bengal.
Nainaji, in her book, has brought to us stories of 30 important and influential women in the country who are pioneers in their respective areas. Each story tells us how Indian women are participating in nation-building.
Ms Naina Lal Kidwai, Chairman HSBC India & Director HSBC Asia Pacific, Ms Kirthiga Reddy, MD Facebook India, Ms Debjani Ghosh, VP-Sales and Marketing group and MD- South Asia at Intel, shared their experiences, challenges and achievements and answered the questions that confront all working women, from how best to balance the personal and the professional and how to dismantle gender biases.
The moderator for the event was Ms Ishita Ayan Dutt, Deputy Resident Editor, Business Standard, Kolkata.
The panelist unanimously agreed that women were more capable then men in many ways, in terms of work, life balance and multitasking they are way ahead. They also said that having an active support system around them helped in overcoming the challenges of work life.
The pearls of wisdom that emerged from the discussions were- passion, ambition, humility, integrity, hard work and dealing with failure positively. It was an illustration of our endeavor at FLO to truly live up to our mission of “Power to Empower”.
Ms Naina lal kidwai said women are great time managers and can juggle with many responsibilities. She also insisted on providing enabling environment for women to grow .
The prime take away from the afternoon discussion was that choosing a husband is the most important career decision. We women should have a dialogue with spouse, mother-in-law, & family and be able to say I want to work, I need help.
They concluded stressing that communication is very important in every field today for a balanced and integrated life.
