13 steps to Bloody Good Luck” by Mr. Ashwin Sanghi

FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) organised an event with Mr. Ashwin Sanghi on”13 Steps to Bloody Good Luck-a morale- boosting discourse on the topic of Luck”.

Sanghi, the businessman-cum author who has authored three best –selling novels: The Rozabal Line, Chanakya’s Chant and The Krishna key-the books based on historical, theological and mythological themes

The US educated management graduate explained how one should respect the four letter word “luck” which has the elements of dumbness, constitutional and circumstantial. He elaborated in his own lucid story-telling way the three “Rs”- Raise, Recognise and Respond to an opportunity. He said one should raise to opportunities ,then recognise it and then resoundingly respond to it. These three “Rs” are the drivers of “luck”.

Sanghi’s work is a result of immense research and he has deep to understand what makes it to a good luck.

The author explained, through examples, how people can make the best use of opportunities that come their way rather than just giving up. This was interesting because Sanghi focused just on ‘luck’, often a misunderstood subject, in a logical manner.

Sanghi stressed on one thing: that all successful persons chose to take calculated risks, cut their losses and learnt from their mistakes. This showed that ‘lucky people’ are not just lucky because of their hard work. A positive attitude coupled with persistence also played an equal part in shaping their careers and life.

“It’s important to be positive and persistent, for which you need to have thick skin. This prevents criticism and negative feedback from pulling you down in life, he said.”

He talked about “13 Steps to Bloody Good Luck”, with the first three being intuition, calculated risks and willing to experiment. He concluded by saying to the audience “wish you bloody good luck”.

Apra Kuchhal, introduced the author to the large gathering of FLO members. She said Sanghi inspired FLO members with his ideas and wisdom
