Under FLO initiative WE in transport, the driver training programme in partnership with Maruti Suzuki driving school was kickstarted on 24th Sept with the first batch of 11 girl candidates. All girls had met the criteria set by MSIL and are from economically weaker families. Three centres of Maruti were chosen based on proximity to the residences of the candidates and the theory classes started on 24th Sept. After few hours of theory and simulator training, the girls will go through the mandatory hours of practical training that will fetch them a driving licence. The whole process is expected to take 2.5 months.
