Gain from Government

FLO Ahmedabad Chapter, hosted an afternoon session of interactive learning for women in business. The event, “Gain from Government” saw a very good attendance and interaction through question and answer sessions. Officials from various government organisations shared the schemes and incentives put forth by their organisation and subsidies promoted by the Government which directly benefits Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)

Ms. Grace Reji, Business development officer of NSIC (National Small Industries Corporation) talked about their Web portal for B2B and B2C opportunities for manufacturers. She explained in simple terms how to join and derive benefits from it. She also shared how women could get subsidised up to 95% of their investment, when they participate in international trade fairs. Her gentle demeanour and humour-filled explanations had the women enthralled and energized.

Mr. D.H. Amin, G.M. and Joint Director of DIC (District Industries Center), Government of Gujarat, shed light upon the various schemes offered by the Govt. of Gujarat, which can be availed over and above those provided by the central government. He painstakingly explained the process and importance of getting an EM number for a business or manufacturing unit.

The women who attended spent an enlightened afternoon, learning how to leverage the various schemes proposed by the Government to bring affordable growth to their businesses.
