Kashmir Is Burning

To aquaint us with the reality of this statement FLO Kolkata had invited renowned journalist Mr Ved Bhasin along with Ms. Sonia Jabar to tell the members about the current state of affairs in Kashmir. Hosted at Bengal Club on the 21 st of August, the program captured the interest of all members present as Mr Bhasin explained and unfolded the reality as to how the local police in Kashmir have paralysed the normal life of the residents. Ms Jabar, who is also working closely with various NGOs in Kashmir related some real-life incidents whilst shedding light on the plight of the people there. As the speakers interacted with the members it became apparent that the media is largely to blame for preventing us from knowing the grim reality of Kashmir. The program was a real eye-opener for one and all.
