Women Entrepreneurships Enabled Through Microcredit Loans

Padma Venkataraman, a social activist and former India President R. Venkaraman’s daughter, an expert in Microcredit discussed the advantages and disadvantages of microcredit loans. By taking a loan, individuals were empowered to take action towards building their own future and this was explicitly presented by Ms Venkataraman. Some of the lady beneficiaries of Microloans were present to share their experiences. It had dramatically altered their life, provided a means of livelihood, given dignity and a meaning to their existence and they emphasized that they were very indebted to the system.
