“TECH FOR LIFE” was conceptualised based on the idea that technology can make life easier on various fronts including businesss communication, presentations, personal fitness and even family entertainment.
The panel of speakers included Mr. John Rose, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Cyber Crime Chennai Division, Mr. A.M.Prasad, Adreya Group of Companies and Ms.Mayuka Goenka for Gadget review.
The event saw a turnout of 60 FLO members along with their enthusiastic spouses. The first panelist Mr. John Rose gave a brief on how cyber crime has escalated with theft of credit card numbers, online ids, hacking and SMS spam.
He cautioned members on how and what kind of information one should make available online. He gave real life stories to exemplify the seriousness of crime these days. He freely shared all his contact details with the audience and not to hesitate to lodge a complaint, if any detected. His jovial and yet informative talk was well received by all present. Mr.A.M Prasad gave a fantastic presentation on how one can use various Apps to make like easier and how there is an App for almost all of the needs of a human being.
He gave an AV presentation of different Apps for different categories, some of the popular Apps he mentioned were Google Apps, Prezi which is far more dynamic and interactive than power point and can be easily used. My fitness pal which can be your fitness instructor in your hand which will also double up as a calorie counter. The Apps mentioned were available for iPhone, Android and Windows smartphone.
Ms.Mayuka Goenka held the audience spell bound by informing them on the upcoming technology including 3D printing and model making with the ease of a pen. For many of the products that she explained, the audience were asking if it was real and if it was possible for which she gave them the website address and that they are all very much in the production line.

Captivated by the topic, the programme saw a good turnout. The members and spouses then networked and bonded over the cocktails and sumptuous dinner.
