Journey of a Woman of Substance

FICCI Ladies Organization, Kolkata Chapter presented the “Journey of a Woman of Substance” – of none other than the First Woman Police Officer in India – Dr. Kiran Bedi, a multifaceted person and an iconic figure. Each one of us had so much to learn from her. She has truly inspired our generation and generations to come to think beyond the ordinary, to work tirelessly to achieve our dreams, to enable women to march shoulder to shoulder with men and to stand up for the right. A recipient of many awards and honours, Kiranji has also received the FICCI Award of Excellence for being an outstanding woman achiever.

I look at each day as three days!” said Kiran Bedi while addressing FICCI FLO, Kolkata Chapter, at an event named ‘Journey of a Woman of Substance’, held at Taj Bengal. The country’s first woman IPS officer shared moments from her life that almost every woman in the audience could relate to. And the day of the event (June 25) had a special meaning for the 66-year-old: “It’s my father’s birthday, so I wanted to celebrate it this way with you all.”

The session was packed with above 160 Flo and Yflo members.
