FLO Pune Chapter had its Change of Guard ceremony on April 14th with Varsha Talera handing over the baton to Sabina Sanghvi the current Chairperson.
Sabina Sanghvi shared her vision for Flo with the members. Her theme for the year is “LEANing In” based on an initiative by Sheryl Sandberg which has motivated and been a life changing experience for numerous women since its inception. She hopes to follow the same guidelines by emphasizing on L-E-A-N where L stands for Learning, E to Empower, A to Aspire and N for Network.
This was followed by a tete-e tete with the renowned and highly talented actor Boman Irani, who kept the 100 odd ladies rapt in attention, while he elaborated on his life journey from being a waiter at Taj to frying wafers for fourteen years, moving on to photography and finally finding his calling in theatre.
He shot to fame with his first movie Munnabhai MBBS and then there was no looking back.
Along with various anecdotes he also educated the ladies on how to make the best potato chips.
He ended by singing a beautiful Frank Sinatra song in his robust voice and got a standing ovation.
