Food Wine Art with ‘Keith W Edgar’ & Shuvaprasanna

YFLO, Kolkata Chapter in association with Gallery Kolkata presented a show called “FOOD WINE & ART”, A tasteful journey celebrating women & their love for food wine & art ! The evening was hosted by Meghna Agarwalla, YFLO member & owner of Gallery Kolkata. A varietal wine tasting session was conducted by Canadian Sommelier & Beverage Consultant ‘Keith W Edgar’; who discussed the fine art of Wine Tasting along with food pairing! Keith, has an international experience of over 20 years.

The ladies savored exquisite food as pairing – Phyllo with figs, caramelized onions & goat cheese with rosemary etc to be paired with White and Red Wine respectively.

All this while the guests walked through an eclectic display of art to whet their artistic sensibilities in the gallery ! Affordable artworks by eminent artists like Sunil Das , Jogen Chowdhury , Ram Kumar & contemporaries like Prasanta Sahu , Kamal Mitra, etc were displayed to get the young initiated in Art !

Eminent Artist Shri. Shuvaprasanna graced the event & conjured up a master piece, which was a treat to watch for most of us. Watching him paint live was a very different experience.

Like Michael Broadbent quoted: “Drinking good wine with good food in good company is one of life’s most civilized pleasures.” , and Thomas Merton believing , “Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time”. .. We are sure the ladies lost & found themselves in the eclectic environment while the enchanting strains of Bach’s most romantic compositions played in the background !

As the french would say – Quelle soirée! C’était une célébration de la vie !! (What an evening, it was a celebration of life ! )
