Under the leadership of Chairperson Ms. Priya Gazdar, FLO Hyderabad hosted a session with Ms. Swami Mukundananda at AIG Hospitals, offering profound insights on mastering the mind, self-discipline, willpower, and the power of beliefs. 105 FLO members and 100 doctors and nurses benefited from this session.
Swami Ji emphasized the importance of self-mastery and willpower in shaping thoughts and actions. He outlined three key aspects of willpower: “I Want” (the desire to achieve a goal), “I Won’t” (the ability to resist distractions), and “I Will” (the commitment to take action).
Using the Upstream Vs. Downstream analogy, Swami Ji explained that while short-term temptations pull a person downstream, true success lies in constantly striving against the current to reach life’s higher goals.
Drawing from the “Rich Father, Poor Father” theory, he highlighted how a person’s mindset determines their destiny, illustrating the contrast between the beliefs of a wealthy and a struggling individual. He also introduced the Vedantic path of wisdom—Shravan (Hearing), Manan (Contemplation), and Nididhyasana (Assimilation)—to encourage deep reflection and application of learned wisdom.
