Marking the tricentennial birth year of Mata Ahilya Devi Holkar, the legendary ruler of Malwa, FLO Indore curated a journey to Maheshwar. This transformative trip was a heartfelt tribute to one of India’s most revered women rulers and a celebration of the rich heritage and textile traditions of Madhya Pradesh.
42 members, along with, FLO Indore Chairperson, Ar Vibha Jain Sethi, Senior Vice Chair, CA Shweta Agrawal, and Junior Vice Chair, Ar Vandana Gujrati, visited the historic city.
Members started the journey to Maheshwar with a visit to the Ahilya Fort. They had the privilege of engaging with King Richard Holkar, who shared insights into Mata Ahilya Devi’s visionary leadership, governance, and cultural legacy. A royal lunch at the historic Hotel Ahilya Fort added a touch of regal hospitality to the experience.
At the Rehwa Society and GudiMudi, members witnessed the Maheshwari weaving process and supported artisans by purchasing handcrafted textiles and rode on the Narmada River to Baneshwar Temple with a boat.
