Visit to the Startup Cell and Incubation Centre, IIT Kanpur

FLO Kanpur organized an enriching visit to the Startup Cell and Incubation Centre of IIT Kanpur under the National Initiative – Membership Drive & Membership Engagement. The community event, curated for FLO Business Gurus and FLO Tech Wizards, witnessed the participation of 30 enthusiastic members.

Ms. Sudha provided an insightful overview of the establishment and evolution of IIT Kanpur’s Incubation Centre since its inception in 2000. Her session highlighted the remarkable achievements of women entrepreneurs excelling in startups, particularly in the field of biotechnology, inspiring all 30 attendees.

Several innovative startups showcased their cutting-edge projects during the event, inspiring FLO members with their entrepreneurial spirit and technological prowess:

• JustDataAnalytics, co-founded by Dr. Parineeta and supported by Dr. Preeta Sarke under the faculty entrepreneurship policy of IIT Kanpur. Focused on advanced data collection and analytics to improve operational efficiency.
• DreamErospace, led by Hari Krishnan, focused on innovative solutions to enhance satellite lifespans and manage orbital debris.
• Medantrik, presented by Priyaranjan Tiwari and focused on a lung-testing device offering highly accurate health assessments using nationwide data.
• Jetsons Robotics, spearheaded by Jatin Sharma, and focused on robots designed for efficient cleaning of solar panels, achieving a man-to-machine work ratio of 20:80.

Following the startup presentations, Vatsala Khare elaborated on the incubation programs and the enrollment processes at IIT Kanpur. The members toured the Centre of Excellence for Capacity Building, Training, and Design of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.

The visit concluded with a vote of thanks to Chairperson Nalini Sanwal for organising the visit; Dr. Shefali Raj, for her invaluable mentorship and guidance; Event Chairs – Roli Gupta and Rozy Mandoliya for planning and coordination, COO Piyush Mishra for hosting and providing insights into the Incubation Centre’s operations at the SIDBI Innovation and Incubation Centre.
