FLO JKL and CRC Jammu Under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment Celebrate International Day for Persons with Disabilities
FLO Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh in partnership with The Composite Regional Centre (CRC), Jammu, under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, marked the International Day for Persons with Disabilities with an uplifting and inclusive event at the Government Medical College Jammu Auditorium. The program focused on raising awareness, fostering inclusivity, and empowering persons with disabilities (PWDs).
The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. Devansh Yadav (IAS), Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, who praised the collaborative efforts of CRC Jammu and FLO JKL in creating a more inclusive society.
Event Highlights:
- Captivating Cultural Program by Children with Special Needs (CWSN): Children with special needs showcased dance performances, a fashion show, and a singing competition. There were participants from 4 specially abled schools.
- Distribution of Aids and Appliances: Under the Pradhan Mantri Dakshata Kendra (PMDK) scheme, assistive aids and appliances were distributed to persons with disabilities.
- Display & Awareness of Assistive Aids by ALIMCO: There was an exclusive display of assistive aids and appliances from ALIMCO.
- Honoring The Trailblazers in the Field of Disability: Achievers in the fields of sports, education, and entrepreneurship were felicitated for their remarkable accomplishments.
- Unique Disability Identity (UDID) & Nirmaya Cards Distribution: UDID & Nirmaya cards were distributed to the differently abled so that they can make use of the schemes and benefits under CRC.
- Exhibition: Special showcasing of creative articles crafted by CWSN.
