A training workshop on Basic life saving skills where in 85 Sabla Girls – Age group 11-18yrs from Jawahar Nagar KacchiBasti were taught how to treat an injured victim at site and live demonstration of CPR- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, which means re-starting the heart and lungs if they stop due to bleeding or heart attack.
The course has been formulated as per norms of THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION & European Resuscitation Council guidelines and framed as per Indian perspective.
Dr.MayaTandon MD (Anaes.) showed the girls a video on practical experience of how road accidents happen and in which way we can make a difference in saving a life, all the aspects like legal hassles for accident victims were also brought up. They were educated on the fact that Supreme Court has issued a directive that it is the duty of the doctor to treat a seriously injured victim first, whereas legal procedures can follow later.
Dr. ParmeshwariMishra(Sn. Consultant Pediatrician) conducted a Complete Health Check-up for Blood-Group, Hemoglobin level, B.P. & common ailments were treated on the spot. Basic Health & Hygiene talk was delivered & all 85 girls were given First Aid kits with all the necessary medicine required. In the end they were issued a combined certificate from Govt. of Rajasthan, FLO& acclaimed Doctors. The event was attended by Ms. VijaylaxmiBishnoi (State President Mahila Congress), Ms. JayshreeThagaria (Dy. Director Women & Child Development) & all the Core & Executive Committee Members
