FLO Chennai, under the leadership of Chairperson Dr. Divya Abhishek, organized a meaningful visit to the Venkatapuram Tuition Centre. This initiative, originally introduced in 2016 by Past Chairperson Ms. Meena Mohan, continues to make a significant impact on underprivileged students in the region by supporting their education and overall development.
The event began with a visit to Gnanodaya High School, which has a total population of 150 students, including 34 hostel residents. The school provides lunch to all students, and hostel residents are also provided with breakfast and dinner. Members explored the school premises, understanding its operations and appreciating its commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment.
The team visited the nearby Venkatapuram Tuition Centre, which serves students from three schools: Gnanodaya High School, Mahendra City, and Chengalpattu Higher Secondary School. At the tuition center, members interacted with the students, engaging in meaningful conversations and recognizing their achievements. Biscuits, chocolates, T-shirts, and pencil boxes were distributed to the students, spreading cheer and encouragement.
The event was attended by Past Chairperson Ms. Meena Mohan, Secretary Ms. Radhika Agarwal, Membership Vertical Committee Member Ms. Shobana Narayanan, and Flo Chennai member and supporter Ms. Sakshi Sahoonja Anand. The visit exemplified FLO Chennai’s unwavering commitment to uplifting communities and empowering young minds through education and compassion.
