6thAnnual Day and Change of Guard Ceremony

FLO NE Chapter celebrated its 6thAnnual Day of honouring women achievers of Northeast on 26th April 2014.Guests and awardees were welcomed in a traditional Assamese way by Dhol and Khol.Rishikanya Dutta,a young dancer presented a Satriya dance.

Dr Mridul Hazarika,Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of The Guwahati University was the chief guest and Ms Malvika Rai,Imm.Past President of FICCI Ladies Organisation was the guest of honour of the function.Monisha felicitated Dr Hazarika and Ms Rai and gave the welcome speech and presented the power point presentation of the events of 2013-14. She thanked chief guest,guest of honour and Namita Gautam, Past President, FLO for accepting her invitation to visit the chapter and also thanked Past Chairs,team and members of FLO NE for all their help and support during her tenure to achieve the Best Chapter Award of 2013-14.

Chief Guest Dr Hazarika and Guest of Honour Malvika Rai jointly felicitated the following 5 awardees.

• Sudakshina Sarma in the area of Music from Assam
• Padmashree Bertha Dkhar in the area of Social Work,working for visually impaired from Meghalaya
• Binalakshmi Nepram in the area of social activism from Manipur
• Monalisa Changkija in the area of Journalism from Nagaland
• Nellie Ahmed Tanweer in the area of Education and Entrepreneurship from Assam

Dr Hazarika kept the audience spellbound by littering his address with anecdotes on values of true education.Malvika Rai was very inspiring as a keynote speaker and she exhorted the FLO NE members to achieve greater heights.The FLO Coffee Table Book was released.Past Chairpersons of FLO NE Chapter were jointly felicitated by Namita Gautam and Malvika Rai for their contributions towards the chapter.

The Annual Report of FLO NE Chapter 2013-14 were released too.Monisha Baruwa, Chairperson 2013-14 handed over the baton to Smita Agarwal, Chairperson 2014-15.Smita presented her acceptance speech and introduced her team.Jayashree Verma proposed the Vote of Thanks.

The meeting was ably anchored by Prabidita Bharati.The function ended with the singing of The National Anthem
