FLO Hyderabad organized a 4 km Cancer Awareness Walk on October 2nd, 2024. Drawing about 100 participants, including members, their families, and the public. In collaboration with KIMS Hospital, the walk aimed at raising awareness about cancer and the importance of early detection, diagnosis, treatment, and giving and seeking support.
After a healthy breakfast, the participants witnessed a play “Half a Cup Full”. Presented by Hyderabad’s leading theatre group, Torn Curtains, the play centered around a breast cancer support group of 4 women who voice their distress, hopes, aspirations, and expectations.
In her address on the occasion, Chairperson Priya Gazdar emphasized the need for cancer literacy, highlighting prevention, screening, early treatment, and the significance of support. Doctors of KIMS Hospital spoke about the statistics, incidence of breast cancer in younger women, and the need for timely medical intervention.
