Counselling and Career Guidance for Students

On the 12th May 2014, FLO NE Chapter, visited the Rajhans Shishu Vidyalaya, and started it’s Counselling and Career Guidance programme for students of economically backward families. 32 bright , young , intelligent and ambitious senior students , 15 of them girls, were present and as this was probably the first time someone had asked about their dreams and careers, they were first inhibited in speaking out their minds, but they opened up as they became more comfortable with FLO members.

Their questions ranged from tensions about studies…lack of concentration, anger management, doubts that they would be able to recall things in their exams, how to realise their dreams of becoming a surgeon , engineer , lawyer , writer or cricketeer. These children are first generational students in their families, and it was an enlightening experience for FLO members too
