FLO JKL, in partnership with the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (CIED), at the Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST) Foundation, has initiated a week-long Financial Literacy Program at the ICA Centre, Srinagar. This initiative aims to empower women students with entrepreneurial ambitions by equipping them with essential financial and technical skills.

The first batch of 15 participants, part of a cohort of 30, will receive hands-on training in Tally, Excel, and Word—vital tools for business and entrepreneurship. Mrs. Ruchika Gupta, Chairperson FLO JKL, expressed her gratitude to CA Shailza Wazir, a valued member for facilitating the collaboration, and to Prof. Parvez Mir, CEO of CIED IUST Foundation. This was to provide access to women students to the National FLO initiative. She highlighted the importance of such programs in fostering women’s skills and entrepreneurial potential.

Prof. Parvez Mir, who inaugurated the program, spoke about the need to create an ecosystem that nurtures innovative thinking and real-world problem-solving, encouraging students to explore entrepreneurship.

Addressing the participants, CA Shailza Wazir emphasised the relevance of the program in enhancing employability and supporting students in launching their ventures. The program, offered through ICA Centre’s digital financial literacy platform. It provides practical exposure to business accounting tools. Participants will engage in real-world simulations to build competence in navigating workplace scenarios and overcoming entrepreneurial challenges.
