FLO Siliguri hosted a vibrant Diwali meet on October 23rd, 2024, at the beautiful Farmhouse in Dagapur, owned by FLO member Sabya Berlia. The event saw an enthusiastic turnout of 70 members who gathered to celebrate the festival of lights.
The evening was marked by camaraderie as members mingled, enjoying the festive spirit in a joyful atmosphere. The venue, beautifully lit and decorated for the occasion, added to the festive charm of the celebration.
Shivika, joint treasurer of FLO, shared a notable highlight of the meeting. She presented a unique and thoughtful return gift for the members – hand-painted diyas crafted by young girls from local slums. These girls, in need of financial assistance for their tuition and college fees, were able to generate income through this initiative by FLO. The hand-painted diyas embodied the spirit of Diwali and reflected FLO’s commitment to supporting the underprivileged.
The meet was a perfect blend of festivity and philanthropy, showcasing FLO’s dedication to both celebrating culture and uplifting the community. Members left with a deep sense of fulfillment, knowing they had contributed to a cause that would make a meaningful difference.
