The Women’s Indian Association (WIA) conducted a Nurse Aid Geriatric Certificate Course over a span of three months on September 30th, 2024. In association with FLO Chennai, this program was aimed at providing specialised training to students pursuing nursing, focusing on geriatric care.
A detailed budget breakdown shows that the course included expenses such as faculty honorarium, administrative costs, certificate charges, material expenses, and consumable items, amounting to ₹97,000 for the entire program. Each batch comprised 20 students, highlighting a significant contribution to the healthcare sector by empowering young women with valuable skills.
Representatives from FLO Chennai played a key role in this initiative. Attendees included Ms. Raji Raju, Immediate Past Chairperson; Ms. Chitra Gopinath, Vertical Head of Legal and Policy Advocacy; Ms. Naina Shah, Vertical Head of Legal and Policy Advocacy; and Ms. Mona Parekh, FLO Member. Their participation underscores FLO Chennai’s commitment to supporting healthcare education and creating opportunities for women in the field of geriatric care.
