Beej Bandhan

Team Name: Agriculture and Education & Skilling Initiatives

To coincide with Independence Day and to spread the message of environment-friendly choices, FLO Hyderabad, in collaboration with its Agriculture initiative implementation partner – East West Seed India, introduced 100 school children to the concept of ‘Plantable Rakhi.’ This innovative Rakhi containing Marigold seeds can be planted after use. In the talk before the Rakhi distribution, students got to understand the importance of sustainability, nurturing the environment for a healthier future, and their role as Climate Superheroes by making environmentally-friendly choices. The talk also covered topical subjects such as the need to have a balanced diet, emphasising the value of local vegetables.

  1. Distribution of 100 Free Beej Bandhan kits containing a Plantable Rakhi, Sustainable Activity book and writing material, Eco-friendly, decomposable pot made by children of a Dutch NGO, Decomposable paper bag
