FLO 26th Annual Session: Inclusion of Women in India’s Political Economy New Delhi – April 21, 2010

The 26th Annual Session of FLO was organized on April 21, 2010 at FICCI, New Delhi.The pertinent subject that caters to the empowerment of women in our country was the “Inclusion of Women in India’s Political Economy” and the theme for FLO 26th Annual Session could be more apt than this.

Ms. Shobhana Bhartia, M.P and Member of, Parliamentary Standing Committees on Empowerment of Women & Defence & Chairperson & Editorial Director H T Media Limited was the Chief Guest at the occasion. Ms Sminu Jindal, Managing Director, Jindal SAW Ltd, Ms Sunidhi Chauhan, Renowned playback singer & artist and Ms Shovana Narayan, IAS, Renowned Danseuse were the special guests at the occasion.

In her inaugural address, Ms Shobhana Bhartia made a significant remark that evidence shows that some women, after taking over reins of business, have created new centres of excellence, have given a new direction to their operations and brought in an element of meticulousness that the lives of women are characterized by.

The momentous occasion was marked with the presentation of FLO Annual Awards 2008-2009 for Outstanding Woman Professional to Dr Vandana S Bhatt, ME, PhD (USA) from Mumbai.

On the occasion, FLO also took the privilege to felicitate Ms Sminu Jindal, Ms Sunidhi Chauhan and Ms Shovana Narayan for their remarkable achievements.

The change of guard took place on the day, wherein Ms Kavitha Dutt , The outgoing President-FLO passed over the baton to Ms Ranjana Agarwal, who  took over as the President for the year 2010-11.
