27th Annual Session: Honoring Women Philanthropists “Business of Sharing” April 23rd, 2011

The 27th Annual Session of FLO was held on April 23, 2011 at The Taj Mahal Hotel, Man Singh Road New Delhi.

Hon’ble Chief Minister Smt. Shiela Dikshit was the Chief Guest and Smt. Sharmila Tagore Pataudi was the Guest of Honour.

FLO honoured 5 women philanthropists : Kalpana Morparia , CEO,J P Morgan Asset Management (I) Pvt Ltd and Meera Sanyal, Chairperson & Country Executive, RBS Bank,Priti Adani, Managing Trustee, Adani Foundation, Minal Bajaj, Director, Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation and  Sangita Jindal, Chairperson, JSW Foundation, for their personal contributions towards social development programmes.

The FICCI – FLO Annual Awards for Social work went to Devika Singh, Co-Founder, Mobile Creches and Asha Gupta, Trustee, Jan Sewa Trust- Aditya Birla Chemicals Ltd.
For Entrepreneurship the award went to Meenakshi Jain, Founder & CMD, Positive Climate Care Private Limited.

Ranjana Agarwal read out the highlights of the year. She said that in 2010-11, FLO entered two collaborations, one with GWIC ( women wing of GOPIO ) and the other with the Women Corporate Directors ( WCD ) . 500+ members were added this year, resulting in a huge surplus for FLO. Foreign delegations to East Europe and Myanmar were a great success in terms of networking and business opportunities.

A book on How to Start Business was released along with the FLO Annual Report 2010-11.

Ms Neena Malhotra took over as the President for the year 2011-12 at the same function.
