The YWCA of Madras Community College, in collaboration with FICCI FLO Chennai, organized a one-hour workshop aimed at promoting health and hygiene among young women aged 16-22. The session was led by Dr. Bagyam, a radiologist, and was conducted in Tamil to ensure the content was accessible and relatable.
The workshop significantly enhanced participants’ awareness of key health issues, with Dr. Bagyam’s expertise making complex topics understandable. Attendees gained practical knowledge on maintaining hygiene and identifying early signs of common health issues, which were relevant to their daily lives.
The session also instilled confidence in participants to prioritize their health, debunked myths, and encouraged healthier lifestyles. Additionally, the workshop fostered a supportive community environment where participants could openly discuss health concerns and share information.
Overall, the workshop contributed to the broader goal of improving young women’s well-being, supporting their ability to lead healthier, more empowered lives. This effort aligns with FICCI FLO’s commitment to gender equality and enhancing the quality of life for women in the community.
