Grand Launch of TN RISE

Milestone moment for FLO Chennai, as we entered into an MOU with the Tamil Nadu Government for the “Launch of TN -RISE (Tamil Nadu Rural Incubator and Start up Enabler)” to create more women-led startups in the Rural areas. An initiative implemented by the state-owned Tamil Nadu Women Development Coproration with the assistance of World Bank. The Minister for Youth Welfare, Sports Development and Special Programme Implementation Udhayanidhi Stalin launched the Tamil Nadu Rural Incubator and Start-Up Enabler(TN-RISE).

With 13.5% of the industries run by women entrepreneurs across the country being located in Tamil Nadu.This initiative will have an impact on several woman entrepreneurs and 80 woman enterprise groups.

TN RISE aims to eliminate these obstacles by offering customised market linkages, financing, and operational advice. Also, it will provide high-end business incubation services to women-led rural enterprises.

The MOU was signed with 4 presitigious organisations, Flipkart, HP, FICCI FLO Chennai & Start up TN.

Event Overview:

• The event featured speeches from various dignitaries, including government officials, project leaders, and community representatives.
• Emphasis on the significance of rural development and the project’s alignment with state and national goals.

Key Objectives:

• Market Linkages: TN-RISE will provide customized market linkages to help women-led enterprises access broader markets.
• Financing and Credit Access: The initiative aims to simplify access to finance and credit, a significant hurdle for many rural women entrepreneurs.
• Operational Advice: Guidance on business operations will be a critical component, ensuring sustainable and efficient business practices.

Support and Partnerships: TN-RISE has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with major corporations to offer training and mentorship to budding entrepreneurs. This collaboration will enable rural women to gain insights from industry leaders and enhance their business acumen.

Incubation Services: High-end business incubation services will be provided to support the development and scaling of women-led enterprises. This includes developing robust business models, connecting with service providers, and obtaining essential resources.

Government and Organizational Support: Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin highlighted the state government’s commitment to empowering women through proactive initiatives. He emphasized that Tamil Nadu already has a significant number of women-run industries, attributing this success to the supportive environment created by such initiatives.
