Yoga week Celebrations with Isha Foundation and workshops organised by FLO members

FLO Indore rolled out the yoga mat for a unique four-day program from June 18th to 21st, 2024, in celebration of International Yoga Day. Under the theme, “Grow with FLO”, the central focus of this yoga week was to promote the practice of its members.

Key Highlights

The yoga program was designed to encourage even those members who are already working as yoga instructors. Additionally, each member was able to understand the various aspects of staying healthy and experience diversity in yoga. In other words, they were able to learn about the various forms that come under the single word ‘yoga’.

This is a symbol of Flo Indore’s continued commitment to promoting members and their businesses and the importance of meditation among its members. Whether you are new to yoga or experienced, there was something for everyone in the program. The program offered a comprehensive exploration of yoga, encompassing various styles to cater to diverse interests and fitness levels.

Participants embarked on their yogic journey on June 18th with a session led by Ms. Lakshmi Bhadoria from “The Isha Foundation”. The session introduced them to fundamental yoga practices designed by Sadhguru, providing a strong foundation for their well-being journey. Around 50 members were benefitted from this session.

Following the introductory session, members had the opportunity to delve deeper into specific yoga disciplines. For the adventurous yogis, FLO Indore member, Ms.Bharti Navlani led “Aerial Yoga” sessions on June 19th where around 50 members incorporated a hammock or swing which was suspended from the ceiling, to assist with yoga postures with elements of pilates, dance, and acrobatics.

Bharti Navlani, our FLO member instilled confidence from the get-go. Her clear and thorough explanation of hammock use prioritized safety above all else.

The third day comprised of “Facial Yoga and Yoga Nidra by FLO Indore member, Ms.Pooja Bansal. The session involved a series of exercises designed to target and strengthen facial muscles.

The Yoga Program culminated on International Yoga Day, June 21st, with a session on Sound Healing & Meditation, led by FLO Indore member, Ms.Varsha Bidasaria. This session was a holistic mind-body experience, combining the ancient practice of meditation with the therapeutic vibrations of sound healing. The session saw the attendance of around 30 members. Ms. Varsha utilized various instruments like singing bowls, gongs, tuning forks, and drums to create specific sound vibrations to interact with bodies on a cellular level, promoting stress reduction, Improved sleep, pain management and emotional release.

FLO Indore’s program went beyond just physical postures (asanas). The inclusion of meditation sessions highlighted the divine approach of yoga to manage stress, and cultivate inner peace. The program also facilitated a sense of community and shared learning. Several sessions led by FLO Indore members themselves, created a platform for knowledge exchange and peer support. This member-led approach not only celebrated the diverse talents within the organization but also encouraged a sense of camaraderie and shared commitment to a healthy lifestyle.

“We are so thrilled to had this comprehensive program to our members,” said Ar Vibha Jain Sethi, Chairperson of FICCI FLO Indore. “Yoga offers a multitude of benefits, it’s about cultivating inner peace, managing stress, and achieving a sense of balance in our lives. Through mindfulness exercises and meditation techniques, yoga empowers us to navigate the complexities of daily life with greater clarity and resilience and we believe this program will empower our members to integrate these practices into their daily lives for a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.”
