YFLO HYDERABAD MAPS OUT A PATH ON SUSTAINABILITY

YFLO Hyderabad’s World Environment Day event, “Sustainable Futures: Green Spaces,” concluded on a resounding note on June 5th at Hamstech’s Campus. The event sparked an important conversation about the impact of sustainable green building practices had on our local market and left those in attendance ready to be changemakers.

Ridhi Jain, Chairperson of YFLO Hyderabad (2024-2025), set the tone with a powerful message that resonated throughout the event. “We envision a future where environmentally conscious design becomes the norm.”

Ms. Samhita M, the esteemed speaker and a renowned expert in sustainable design, echoed this sentiment. “Sustainability is the need of the hour,” she emphasized. “Individual action will have a cumulative effect. By incorporating sustainable practices, we can significantly reduce the environmental impact of the real estate industry, making our buildings more energy-efficient and resource-conscious.”

Ms. Samhita M is the Founder Director of Ela Green School and Managing Director of Ela Green Buildings & Infrastructure Consultants. Ms. Samhita has over 18 years of experience in designing green and sustainability space. She is also an ardent advocate of sustainable living. Ms. Samhita has recently been decorated with the prestigious Women Empowering Lifestyles for Environment ‘WeLife’ by Niti Ayog. She also received the Telangana State Energy Conservation Award for outstanding contribution towards energy conservation practices in the state.

Ms. Samhita stressed on the importance of integrating green practices while creating new spaces. The event proved particularly impactful for members from the architecture and interior design fields while equipping them with the tools to integrate green building principles into their projects.

The event was attended by more than 250 members from architecture and interior design space, as well as Hamstech students, fostering a collaborative learning environment. Participants engaged in hands-on learning with numerous case studies, empowering them to implement sustainable practices effectively.

The event empowered those present to become changemakers, fostering a wave of green innovation within the Hyderabad community.
