FLO Hyderabad’s WHealth initiative addresses the health needs of rural and urban poor women through interventions in physical, mental and emotional health, preventative health, hygiene, nutrition, and preventive vaccinations. It partners with pharmaceutical companies and local PHCs for free vaccines, organises community education sessions, health checks and trains women in health technology and telemedicine for informed decision-making.
About the Event
The WHealth team conducted a FREE Health Camp in Siddipet town for women weavers and their families. The camp featured a talk on ‘Nutrition & Hydration in Summer’ and ‘The Importance of Maintaining Good Haemoglobin Levels’ by renowned ObGyn Dr. Sweet Agarwal.
A FREE CBP Camp was conducted post the Talk. On reviewing the results, women with deficiencies will receive free iron supplements and reminders over the next few months. Push notifications will be sent to them about taking the meds regularly via a dedicated Whatsapp group. Their haemoglobin levels will be checked again after 2 months. The idea is to build a healthy, happy and productive community of women weavers.
The event was well received by the participants and requests poured in for Cancer screening, which will be taken up soon.
