An Industrial Skilling Centre was inaugurated on May 16, 2024, at Bahadurgarh, Haryana. This is a collaborative endeavor between FLO and Indus Appliances Pvt Ltd. The collaboration was made possible through the vision and dedication of Ms. Ruby Garg, Governing Body Member of FICCI FLO, and Director of Indus Appliances Pvt. Ltd., along with the support of Mr. Dinesh Garg, MD of Indus Appliances. Their commitment to women’s empowerment was evident in their efforts to establish this training center.
Smt. Mayamanti, GI Incharge and DDO at the Government Industrial Training Institute for Women in Bahadurgarh; Ms. Kavita, Village Pradhan; and Mr. Neeraj Singh from the District MSME Centre in Jhajjar at Bahadurgarh were the speakers at the launch event. The objective of the Training Centre is to empower women by providing them with the necessary skills to become economically independent.
The Industrial Skilling Centre offers a comprehensive 2-month training program, totaling 40 days, with classes held 5 days a week. The curriculum includes theoretical and practical training, covering topics such as the functioning of various departments in an organization,
basic computer knowledge, workplace ethics, personality development, soft skills, and hard skills working on machines.
The training program is being conducted by trained and qualified instructors, including ITI professionals for computer education, female teachers for personality development and soft skills, and technically qualified tutors for hard skills and machine operation. Upon completion of the training, students will receive a joint certification from FICCI FLO and Indus Appliances Pvt Ltd, enhancing their employability in industrial manufacturing companies. The launch was followed by a factory visit that offered a glimpse into the innovative work done at Indus Appliances Pvt Ltd’s 12-acre facility in Bahadurgarh, Haryana.
Indus Appliances Pvt Ltd, a pioneer in the industry, started its automobile radiator manufacturing in 1996 as a first-generation entrepreneur. Over the years, they have developed all geyser components in-house and manufactured more than 12 lakh instant water heaters, capturing nearly 35% of the Indian instant market business share in FY23.
