FLO Ludhiana, under the leadership of Chairperson, Mrs Ankita Gupta, organised an enlightening evening with Dr.Shashi Tharoor and Mr.Rakesh Bharti Mittal at an event ‘ONE INDIA LEADERS IN CONVERSATION’. The event took place on the 6th of April, at Hotel Park Plaza, Ludhiana.
Chairperson Ankita Gupta shared her vision and mission for the year 2023-24, followed by the honouring of the Heritage of FLO and Past Chairpersons.
Dr. Shashi Tharoor is an eminent political personality, an accomplished writer and diplomat, besides being a noted critic and columnist. He has been Under Secretary-General of the United Nations and Minister of State for Human Resource Development and Minister of State for External Affairs, Government of India. He is a three-time member of the Lok Sabha from Thiruvananthapuram and chairs the Parliament Information Technology Committee. He shared his insightful and thought-provoking experience with the audience.
Mr Rakesh Bharti Mittal is the Vice-Chairman of Bharti Enterprises, one of India’s leading business groups with interests in telecom, agri-food business, financial services, realty, and communication & media devices.
A passionate advocate of right to good education, Mr. Mittal serves on Boards of several educational institutions. He is a member of All India Board of Studies for Post-Graduate Education and Research in Engineering & Technology (AIBPGERT), Board of Indian School of Business (ISB), Chairman of Mohali Campus Advisory Board of ISB, Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Bharti Institute of Public Policy at ISB Mohali and Member of Board of Trustees of Reimagining Higher Education Foundation (RHEF). Mr. Mittal is the Co-Chairman of the Advisory Board of Bharti School of Telecommunication Technology & Management at IIT Delhi. He also serves as member of the Managing Society and Governing Board of Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana.
During their talk and interactive session with the audience, Dr Shashi Tharoor & Mr Rakesh Bharti Mittal took up various issues regarding the challenges faced by our current society, in the field of education, financial growth, gender equity, and how we all can work together to improve these and in turn contribute towards the progress of our country. The event was attended by many dignitaries of Ludhiana as well as members and their spouses.
