FLO observed World Earth Day on with a mega plantation drive. Around 300 plus medicinal, fruit and flower plants from the Silviculture Forest Department of Assam. The saplings were planted across the city of Guwahati in various religious and educational institutions.
The locations covered included the Hanuman Temple at Uzan Bazar, Panbazar Baptist Church, Raja Para Hanuman Temple, Coke factory, Gopinath Gurudwara Nagar, Ulubari, Sundarpur Naam Ghar, Tri-Nagar Prathamik Vidyalaya, Khanapara, Matri Mandir, South Sarania, Sri Sri Bongshi Gopal Temple (Pamohi), Shemrock Hearts, Chandan Nagar, Beltola, Haji Musafir Khana, Gandhi Basti, Sarania Hills and Pub Sarania.
The final programme was held at Pamohi’s Sri Sri Bongshi Gopal Temple. The local Karbi community and gentry appreciated the initiative and made the temple premises available for the plantation and the event.
More than hundred people were present along with the Chairperson of FICCI FLO Northeast Chapter Mrs. Meghali Das and other senior members of the organisation.
