Women Start Up Demo Day

The Start-Up Demo Day was organized as the first step to take forward the terms of the MOU signed by Dr. Rachna Gemawat; Chairperson, FICCI FLO, Ahmedabad Chapter, and Mr. Hiranmay Mohanta; CEO, iHUB (A Gujarat Government Enterprise), with the objective to provide women entrepreneurs and start-ups a platform to connect with mentors. The idea behind the Demo Day was to provide an opportunity for the start-ups to give their pitch and for the mentors to share their knowledge and experience with these young entrepreneurs.

The participating start-ups pitching constituted 6 entrepreneurs representing varied industries of Health & Wellness, Food Processing, Lifestyle, Biotech, and Manufacturing & Textile.

A total of 50 FLO mentors having varied industry backgrounds participated in the event and imparted their guidance, insights, suggestions, tips & advice. Each mentor was provided with a feedback form listing the specific areas they could support the start-ups. The scope broadly consisted of mentorship, networking support, infrastructure support, marketing & distribution support, financial investment, etc.

It was a highly fruitful interaction with the mentees displaying some unique business propositions with passion, energy & a strong commitment to their idea that was exciting for the mentors, who provided a multitude of very specific inputs to fine-tune the businesses as well as pointers to pivot the business to the next level.

The FLO combined wealth of experience of the 50 participating mentors was phenomenal and their willingness and desire to share the same was overwhelming which was much valued by the mentees. Further mentor-mentee relationships shall be forged based on the feedback and match ability.

A successful start to this remarkable initiative of FICCI Flo, the Ahmedabad Chapter is ably supported by its Start-Up cell and participating mentors.
