‘The Vedanta of Business’, with The Man of Mettle & Grit, Mr Anil Agarwal, Founder & Chairman, Vedanta

FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) organized a webinar ‘The Vedanta of Business’, with The Man of Mettle & Grit, Mr Anil Agarwal, Founder & Chairman, Vedanta. on June 26, 2021.

Mr Agarwal is the man behind the success story of Vedanta Resources Limited, which is a globally diversified Natural Resources Company with interests in zinc-lead-silver, Iron ore, Steel, Copper, Aluminium, Power, Oil and Gas. His journey from a metal scrap trader to one of the topmost business leaders of the country is awe-inspiring.
While addressing the women industry leaders from across Delhi and 18 Chapters of FLO, Mr Agarwal said, “This is the time for women. Women have opened many doors in many sectors, whether it is banking, start-ups, entertainment, politics and others. The way they bring in courage to everything is extraordinary, especially in times of challenges. Throughout my life journey, whether it is my personal or professional experience, women have been exemplary. Worldwide an average of 44 percent women are entrepreneurs and head various companies, In India it is still about 20 percent. It is time for women to come up as they are convincing and deliver.”

“India is a land of entrepreneurship with the advantage of location, young talent, natural resources and sea on Three sides the country is moving towards a self-reliant economy. But the world always looked at India as a market and never wanted to see it grow. But presently the process of self-reliance has grown and youth and start-ups with new ideas are taking the country to newer heights.” He added.

As a part of its activities, FLO brings together inspirational success stories for interactive sessions on breaking through challenges, walking the pathways of courage, and playing the role of inspirational role model for businesses around the globe.

We are training women to be Independent Board Directors, The 1st 100% WOMEN owned, FLO Industrial Park has been set up in Hyderabad with 25 manufacturing units, and with an investment of 250 Cr, we have adopted over 130 villages across India to empower rural women. Most importantly, we are building a women-centric start-up ecosystem.”
