Facts of life – You can’t eat a single chip and be satisfied.

And it is humanly not possible to stay still once you hear the sound of the dholak, you just have to shake a leg! A string of attractions awaited the beautifully ethnically clad ladies of Flo Bangalore on the 16th of October at the expansive Palace Grounds.

The Diwali Mela that required month’s of meticulous planning was a show stopper from the word go!
The enthusiastic Punjabi dholak gave each and every guest a warm welcome to the ethereally beautifully decorated premises all enveloping the guests in the spirit of Diwali.

An especially heartwarming moment was to see the special henna artists for the event – a group of 30 women who have been trained as a part of the Skills Initiative by Flo creating the most intricate art on the palms of the members.

The lavishly spread out Gayatri Vihar was decked with every possible chaat counter especially brought in for the event from Agra and Benares, jhaal muri from Kolkatta, Turkish ice cream and the khaala khatta ice gola completed the cold deserts while the hot jelebis and elaborate paan stall kept the women keep going back for more. Just the tip of the iceberg since the women were at a loss of words at the choice of food being served!

The audience was serenaded by the sweet sounds of the saxophone rendered by Subbalakshmi and the highly energetic and graceful dance group Oxygen took over the stage with Bollywood Diwali hits.

For those in the mood for some fun, the illusionist Tushar from Delhi presented the ladies with spellbinding tricks that he had up his sleeve. And our native parrot astrology gave us some predictions which probably are best kept a secret! 😁

Well, we can only describe the event to you, but the euphoria that swept us is something that can only be experienced!
