Talk by ‘Everest Twins’

FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO) Ludhiana organized a session with the ‘Everest Twins’, Nungshi & Tashi Malik who have achieved several global gender iconic milestones and have been featured in the 60th edition of Guinness book of world records also. Inspite of having roots in a very conservative region of rural north India the super achievers have succeeded against all odds with their grit & determination & have become role models for their peers.

The Ted speakers Nungshi &Tashi took the audience through their remarkable & thrilling journey to Mt. Everest & seven summits. They shared their intrepid adventures, their record breaking achievements & their moments of elation as they stepped on the summits together.

The mesmerized members saluted the trailblazers of Indian mountaineering for making India proud by becoming the first female twins to complete ‘Explorers Grand Slam’ & 3 pole challenge.

Sangeeta Jain, chairperson FLO in her inaugural address said that the motto of the Everest Twins resonates closely with their objective when they say ‘Climbing mountains, Striking Goals, Reaching hearts ‘, all for the cause of the Indian Girl child.

The twins Nungshi & Tashi shared that their strategic goal is to establish world class centre of excellence in mountaineering in India. They went on to say that they continue to promote gender equality & have started the Nungshi Tashi foundation to support the unyielding spirit & resilience of the girl child to ‘Dream Big & Achieve it.’

Overall it was a very inspiring, well attended & well received session.
