Shradha…A Tribute

FLO Chennai had a good start by honouring Women’s Indian Association for completing 100 years standing against odds to carve a respectable space for women. WIA was started by Dr. Annie Besant and Margaret Cousins by borrowing the idea from Tamil MaadharSangham in Chennai by Indians and Europeans. WIA is a Heritage Welfare Organization, of the women, by the women and for the women. They also founded the Cancer Institute at Adyar, a landmark organization of our city. A Thematic dance “tracing the history of WIA in its centenary year” was performed by Ms. Gayatri.
