FLO President, Vasvi Bharat Ram led a business delegation of 40 women entrepreneurs and professionals from pan- India, to Japan from August 31 – September 8, 2017.
The delegates visited the exotic ‘Land of the Rising Sun’ Japan, which is the proud home to numerous advances in technology, geographic and historic landmarks, and number of writers and artists. Osaka, Kyoto & Tokyo were a part of the 9 days itinerary for the delegation.
The Business Interest of the delegates varied from Education, health care, textile, chemicals, art, tourism, fertilizers, fashion, real estate, IT, advertising, photography, construction, hospitality, Chartered Accountant, gems & jewellery, amongst others.
Vasvi Bharat Ram said, “FLO provides the most apt platform to connect with women entrepreneurs from different geographical locations, thereby promoting exchange of ideas and cooperation in the field of economic and social empowerment of women entrepreneurs. The primary objective of the delegation was exploring the synergies that exist between Japan & India for enhancing & deepening business engagements.”
She added, “In recent years, India-Japan relations have considerably improved in both the economic and strategic spheres. The delegation was not only a great opportunity for delegates to network and bond with each other but also explore business prospects in the places visited.”
The delegates had business meetings with businesswomen in areas of manufacturing, agriculture, education and Knowledge transfer. The delegation also visited the Japanese DIET and interacted with the Parliamentarians of Japan DIET.
H.E. Mr. Kenji Hiramatsu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Embassy of Japan in India hosted a pre-delegation reception for the delegates at his residence in Embassy of Japan in India, on Wednesday August 30, 2017.
